Hey, everyone,I know I’ve been posting excerpts from my new Story “Sign of the Times” which I’ve been working on with my sister, the talented BGCreations! But today, I wanted to talk a little bit about the character design process that we’ve been working on together.
When it comes to collaborating on characters you have to agree on their personalities and what their lives look like and how that translates into their physical appearance from hairstyle all the way to how they dress.
BG and I wanted our characters to be distinct and defined as individuals who still had indications that they were raised by the same person and in similar conditions. If you look at the character designs, you see a similarity between a grunge neon-coated future combined with a very street-wise utilitarian approach to their clothes. It is very easy to pick up on the “brawler” personality, the high-strung hacker, the eldest, fashion-conscious, sleek, and preoccupied with keeping his “siblings” safe and, then the youngest, trendiest two who both show very similar insecurities based on their appearances.
One of the most amazing things about BG’s designs is the sleek colors and personality that practically screams from every line. I can’t wait for you to enjoy every aspect of Sign of the Times.
